... set up a charity raffle?

A charity raffle is a good way to raise funds for your favorite local marching band or other charitible cause.

You still need to choose an event (game, markets, NASCAR, etc.) on which to base the pot, but there are different ways to go about raising funds.

To set up a charity raffle, you can :
  • Offer a 50-50 cash pot. - A 50-50 charity raffle sells squares for cash, awarding half of the cash to the winner and half to the cause.

To do this, set the Host's share to half of the pot's total points.

    50-50 cash examples:
    • If your pot is 1 point per square (a $100 pot),
      make the Host's share 50.
    • If your pot is 5 points per square (a $500 pot),
      make the Host's share 250.

  •
  • Award a prize. - Arrange to offer one or more prizes to winners, while cash proceeds from squares go entirely to the cause. Usually the prize is a donated item - or set of items if you your pot will have multiple winners.

TIP: Be sure to explain how your charity pot works in the Comments field.
